The osprey chicks have fledged: This occurred sometime between July 23 and today. The chicks must have been between 8 -10 weeks old. We really shouldn’t have gone an entire 7 days between visits, but the daytime temps. were too high for hiking, plus my nephew is here for a visit and we wanted to show him the osprey chicks! Well…he got to see the empty nest instead. This photo is dedicated to my sister who is experiencing a wee bit of empty nest syndrome herself as her son is soon off to Ireland for graduate school.
