Asiatic Lilies: I am in love with lilies, all kinds of lilies…Last autumn I ordered oodles of daffodils and received about a dozen Asiatic lilies “free” with my order. In the past, the darned lily beetle had completely devoured my Asiatic lilies. I was hoping that if I planted these new bulbs far away from the former lily bed that the lilies would be beetle-free. Success, at least for this year! Presented here are the gorgeous lilies that are gracing the north and south sides of our property. The first parts of the lily that we generally see are the petals, but when you look within, at the center of the flower, there lies magic…the stunning shapes and colors of the pistil and stamen…
