From Tree to Wood Stove Length Logs: Here is a video compilation of the tree cutting to the log splitting in our yard over the last several weeks. It is a huge job all the way around, and is exhausting work. There sure was a lot of rot down the middle of these red maple trees, and many of the logs Drew split had hundreds of carpenter ants spilling out onto the ground. We’ve got 36 more big logs to split, but we are going to concentrate on stacking as much wood as possible this coming week as the weather is going to be so nice and dry. We’ll rent the splitter again next weekend to finish off the last of the wood. Click on the 4 little arrows in the lower right video corner to view full screen.
