Herbs: Today, I planted a pot of Pinetree Lettuce Mix (leaf lettuces), a pot of romaine lettuce (winter density lettuce), a pot of basil (Siam Queen Thai basil), and a pot of Greek oregano (Origanum heracleoticum). All of these seeds were bought on-line at Pinetree Garden Seeds, a company located in New Gloucester, Maine. http://www.superseeds.com
Vegetable Garden: Yesterday I planted a row of cucumbers (11 holes with Cucumber Spacemaster, 7 holes with Cucumber Bush Crop, 8 holes with Cucumber National Pickling varieties). I also planted a row of Blue Lake Bush Beans, and a 1/8th row of Pot O’ Gold Carrots (9” length), as well as a 1/8th row of Mokum Carrots (6” length). The beans and cukes should be ready for the first picking around August 1st if all goes well.
