BIRDS: Early this morning we were awakened by some barred owls hooting nearby. Then, at 5am, a tom turkey was gobbling in the woods across the street near the pond. I recorded its call along with bobwhites, crows, finches, and other birds all contributing to the typical morning chittering. I never realize how many birds congregate around our house until I listen to recordings. It is no wonder that I wake early with all that noise!

VEGETABLE GARDEN: I planted broccoli seeds and pole bean seeds today. The garden is now officially completely planted. For the next few weeks, I must remember to water it daily so the seeds will germinate. I hope they are all up before I travel to Florida.
AQUARIUM: Our town librarian looked at our web site and saw that I had purchased an aquarium. She then offered to give me an old one that she no longer needs. So, tomorrow Drew and I will pick it up. It is a 20 gallon aquarium that I will put in my classroom, which is new to me this year and is large enough that I finally have some space for an aquarium. Good timing, Beth, and thanks so much!
