Bird Update: The Cooper’s Hawk is back for the season and was flying overhead this morning. What a gorgeous sight. I also saw a hairy woodpecker (I think) beginning to excavate a nest hole (I hope) in an old birch tree in the back yard. I am going to set up the video camera later this week, and let it run for an hour to get some footage. I also saw what I think are 2 pairs of bufflehead ducks on the pond yesterday, and a pair of mergansers (possibly). They were too far out in the middle to grab any photos.

Pond Update: Total Ice Out has occurred! Yippeee…Let the kayaking season begin;-)
