Snow Total Thus Far: 31.75 inches of snow this season.

Snow total from this storm alone: 19.50 inches…Now, that’s a good old fashioned snow storm!

More snow: We shoveled an additional 9 inches of snow from what had fallen since I made the last measurement.

Weather Update: The heavy snowfall has stopped, and it is alternately lightly snowing/misting today because the temperature has reached a whopping 34.7F. We’re having a heat wave! We are so tired from throwing snow that we don’t have any energy left to go play. The snow has become rather soggy, and I am seeing wet areas in the snow on the pond ice. I’ve been trapped in snow like this before and couldn’t release my foot for about 15 minutes, so I think I’ll give it a miss.

I am hoping to play on the pond later in the week as the temperature drops and the snow becomes fluffier. Drew found an active beaver lodge at the south end of the pond that I’d like to investigate and photograph. I need to get this done before a trapper comes in and kills all the beavers like he did on the north end of pond last year.
