Bright, Cold, and Blustery: The outdoor temp. is 25F, the wind is blowing steadily (and is gusting to 30mph), and the wind chill is around 9F. I am indoors, feeling a bit under-the-weather at the moment, and am not at all upset that I cannot be outdoors ambling around. In fact, Drew and Kasha are playing ball in the basement because it is just too cold outside for an old dog.

Pink Panels are up: On Thursday, Drew put the last of the pink panels over the front glass doors (there are 3 of them), and we couldn’t be happier as they really do insulate us from the cold. The panels face west and the wind is blocked from seeping into the house. The people who designed this house in the early 1980s really weren’t too concerned about cold, winter weather. We suspect they were into partying and wanted guests to be able to enter through any number of doors. Ugh…now the doors are warped and leak air. In three years we will replace them with energy efficient windows. We are counting the time until the big remodeling project.
