Mosquitoes have arrived: ‘Tis the crossover season of blackflies and mosquitoes…For the  next several weeks we will battle both species of insects as we plant our gardens, go for walks and paddles on the pond. Itch, itch, itch…..The mosquitoes are as ravenous as the blackflies, and I came inside this afternoon with quite a few blackflies plastered to my socks, on my headnet, on my shirt…But, I would much rather have the mosquitoes than the blackflies anyday (the bites are easier on the body), although the mosquitoes spread disease…This is a no-win situation…Itch, itch, itch……
