Gardening Update: I planted the first 40 of the 159 bulbs I received in the mail. These mixed daffodils were planted to the right of the spruce tree and the spirea on the northern wooded section of the yard.

FROST ADVISORY: Our first frost advisory of the year! We love autumn. Tonight Clear     Low 35° F Precip: 10% Mainly clear skies. Scattered frost possible. Low near 35F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 6:44 pm  Sunrise 6:24 am. Last hummingbirds of the season: We’ve seen no hummingbirds since the 16th. Looks like they have headed off to warmer climates!

Kayaking on Caesar Pond: I finally found some time to go for a paddle on the pond, and holey moley, the pond water level is high. Weather Update: We got between 5 to 7 inches of rain from Hurricane Hanna as she came up the east coast. We have never seen the pond so high this time of year. Flower Update: The arctic hibiscus is in full bloom and has more flowers than we have ever seen on it. We think this is because of all the rain we had this summer. I have it planted in a sandy location, and never do water it enough. Diary...
