Bald Faced Hornet Nest: ‘Tis the season for wasp nests. Here is a slide show of a nest that I dissected in 2006. We haven’t seen one on our property since then, but I wanted you to know what to look for in the woods, or in sheds, etc.

Laurie is back from Sweden: I was on a 3 week trip to Sweden, and have just returned home. Apparently, it has rained in Maine most of the time I was abroad, and our vegetable garden is a bust this year (soggy earth and little light).  I walked over to the pond and saw that the water level is way up.
